WebHarriet Tubman is an iconic representation of Black Power to be revered. We (family) brought our young people, ages 7-16, during Spring break and I was glad to experience the feeling of immersion in Harriet Tubman's life. Kudos the the small group of volunteers who diligently keep the museum going. WebHarriet Tubman, born Araminta Ross, was an African-American woman who helped rescue tons of slaves in the mid/late 1800’s. She was born in 1822, though the exact day is not known since records never kept that information. This information was never kept because Harriet was born a slave on a plantation in Maryland to her parents, Rit and Ben.
